Internet Trends

Interesting slides on Internet trends presented by Mary Meeker at the Web 2.0 Conference (Oct 6, 2005). She predicts major changes over the next 10 years as we shift into the PC-Broadband and Mobile Internet futures. Looks like it was a very interesting conference. Read the blogs.

Interesting article on the US losing control of the Internet. I'm glad to see control move to an international body of some kind rather than a single superpower owning it.

VIA EPIA SP 13000 Quiet PC Project

I've been hankering for a better solution to playing music and DivX movies in my living room so I've finally embarked on a Home Media PC project. I just want to play my music and video collection; I'm not getting into TV recording. I want something small and quiet. I could have gone the dedicated playback device route but I really like to have an open platform to play with. I'm also trying to do it on the cheap. My intention is to have a small silent box attached to my TV/stereo. Into that, I'm going to plug a large external hard...
